This tutorial was written for those
that have a working knowledge of PSP

Supplies Needed:
PSP 9 (I used 9 but can be done in any version)
Plugins: NONE
Tube of choice
I used the Beautiful Artwork by ©Scott Blair

My Supplies: OPEN ZIP
All supplies were created by me
Permission is free to do as you please
I ask in return to not change the file name ;0)

Let's Get Started:

Please be sure to SAVE Frequently and NAME your Layers
Resize all layers to your liking

•Open up New Image Size 550 x 625, flood fill white.

•Open Samurai Crest and paste as a new layer - add new layer flood fill using
a lighter color from your tube as the Foreground color
( mine is #633e32 ) and Background color Black
Click on Foreground and choose gradient and find in the gradient dialogue box
called #3 Fading Background - Settings at Angle 45 - Repeats 15
Radial - Click ok and hide this layer.
Take magic wand tolerance 20 click inside the circle
Selections - Modify - Expand 2 - click on your gradient layer and unhide - Invert and delete
Selections None, bring this gradient layer below crest.

•Now go to your Materials Palette again and switch the Foreground solid color
to the Background color Black and you will see the gradient change
and if you click on this gradient
you will see that it is called #3 Fading Background
Make a new raster layer and flood fill with the new gradient and hide this layer
Magic wand tolerance 20 - click on the ring border of the Crest
Selections - Modify - Expand 2 - click on your gradient layer and unhide
Invert and Delete - Selections None, bring this gradient layer below Crest.

•Take your magic wand tolerance 20 and click on the black outline of
the symbol ( the symbol will have marching ants )
Go to Layers Palette - Promote Selection to Layer
You will now have a layer only with the symbol of the Crest
Selections None
Add new raster layer and flood fill with the same gradient we used
for the outer ring and hide this layer...
Go to the promoted symbol layer and hold your shift key magic wand tolerance 20
Click on the outside of the symbol and also the 3 inner parts
and the middle of the symbol ( refer to mine )
Go to gradient layer unhide and delete - Selections None
Bring this gradient layer below your crest layer.
Go back to the promoted symbol layer and delete
for we do not need this layer anymore.

•Give Crest Drop Shadow: 0/0/55/4/Black

•Copy and paste tube resize if necessary give 1st Drop Shadow 1/2/50/6.2/Black
and 2nd Drop Shadow 0/-1/35/4/Black

•Now it's time to add your Quote around the crest...
Line 1 - TELL ME HOW HE DIED
Line 2 - I WILL TELL YOU HOW HE LIVED

Take your Preset Shape Eclipse and make it the same size as the Crest
Click on your Text tool - Floating - Size 20 - Smooth - type out Line 1 on left side
Highlight quote and first kern negative -25 and then in between the word spaces highlight
each space and kern for a negative -200 - Apply
Promote Selection to layer
Go back to the Vector Layer and on your right side repeat with Line 2
Give text Drop Shadow 1/1/50/2/Black

•Add your Name as Vector so you can stretch it
Foreground Color ( mine is #633e32 ) and Background Color Black
Size 60 - Stroke 2.0 Smooth - Apply - Stretch
Drop Shadow 1/1/55/2/Black

•Add your Copyright

•Copy and paste as a new layer Asian Script above your background layer,
go back to your Vector Layer and Resize this to enlarge at 120 percent
Using your magic wand tolerance 20 / feather 8 - click on the outside of the circle
Go back to the Asian Script layer and delete. Duplicate this layer lower the
opacity on both Asian Script layers to 56 and on the duplicate use your
Blend Modes ( on your layers palette ) and change to Dodge.

•Take your Crop tool cut off any excess background

•Save
